Mojo Monday 286

For the past six months or more I have been working more on scrapbooking than cardmaking.  Not sure why, my heart just wasn't in it.  Realizing I needed to get back into card making for my customers who've been requesting we start a Stampin' Club again, I decided to surf the web for inspiration.

Last we I came across  www.mojomonday.blogspot.com.  Hallelujah!!  I'm so thankful for this blog.

Mojo Monday posts a card sketch challenge every Monday.    It is what I've been needing.  I'm more than inspired and excited to get back into card making.  And I'm sure my club members will be thankful too.

So here is my take on MOJO286  sketch challenge

Back to Basics

Sometimes my creative juices just are not flowing.  I can spend hours staring at a piece of cardstock trying to squeeze an ounce of creativity out of my brain.  But, still, nothing!

Recently I was looking through a binder I had started three years ago when I first became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  In this binder I collected samples of cards and projects I did for workshops, clubs, etc. As I was flipping through this binder I came across a very simple but elegant card I'd done.  I could feel my juices bubbling in my brain, and the wheels turning.  In no time at all, I created a similar card, just with different colors and a different technique (heat embossing)  and  VOILA....a new card design to share.

So, if you are struggling for a card design or even a scrapbook layout, get back to the basics.  Sometimes we can be inspired by something we've done years ago.  Good luck finding your inspiration and Happy Stamping : )  By the way, I'm sure this card design came from another persons brain, I just don't know who that is.  Sorry : (

More Than Just Cards!!

Stampin' Up! is a wonderful company that sells lots of products to create all sorts of beautiful handmade cards.  But, did you know that they also sell a variety of scrapbooking supplies as well?  I know, AWESOME!, right?!  I used to think that Stampin' Up! only sold quality products for cardmaking, which is why I became a demonstrator almost three years ago.  Recently, though, I've become addicted to scrapbooking and have utilized the many supplies found in our catalogs to create some amazing layouts.  One of my favorite packs of Designer Series Paper to use is Patio Party (#126916), which is what I used in this layout below.  I also tried to use some of the new embellishments from the 2013 Spring Catalog; such as the Soda Pop Tops (#129388) and the Pinwheel Sizzlits Die (#129411).

St. Patrick's Day Treat Bag

Normally I don't do any projects for St. Patrick's Day. No cards, no layouts, no 3D projects, nothing!  But, the other day my friend was over and asked if I would help her make a treat bag.  I figured why not, it's something different.  So here's what we came up with.  I thought it turned out pretty cute, and was simple to make.  Finding the chocolate coins was the hardest part.  Only place I could find them was at JoAnn's in the candy isle while I was in line to check out.
