Holiday Catalog!!!

Woo Hoo!!  The Holiday Catalog has arrived.  So hard to believe it's already September.  The summer months went by so fast.  I didn't get to do even half the things I'd wanted to.  Oh well, it's a new season with a new and exciting holiday catalog.  And before you know it, Christmas will be here.  So, it's never too early to start creating for the holidays.  Click on the catalog image to start your holiday shopping today😊

https://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/CategoryPage.aspx?categoryid=100200

I've been playing with some of the new product already and want to share with you what supplies I used for my first project.

This is from the new Painted Autumn Suite on pages 48 & 49.  I love the Painted Autumn DSP and the Painted Harvest stamp set.  Also, I used Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, and Early Espresso ink pads.

And here's the first card I created...

I have several more cards and projects to share, but I will pace myself.  In the meantime, check out the New Holiday Catalog, order your supplies, and get to creating.  When you do, please share what you've created.

Masculine Cards

My class guests are always requesting masculine cards and I struggle to come up with designs for them.  So I've squeezed as much creative juice together as I could and decided to offer this class.  All About The Guys!

We will be making a total of six cards, 2 each of 3 different designs.  However, I may throw in an extra design.

If you are interested in attending, just print this flyer and mail your payment and registration slip to me.  And if you have any questions just send me a text or call.

Fall Is In the Air!

The days are getting shorter and the temperatures are slightly dropping.  It's making me anxious for Fall.  I woke up this morning thinking of sunflowers, so thought I'd make a quick and simple sunflower card.

Sunflowers make me smile 😊  When my husband and I lived in Michigan we used to love to drive out in the country during the Fall.  The magnificent colors of the trees, fields of pumpkins, and a field full of sunflowers was such a rewarding sight.  Oh how I miss the Fall in Michigan!!

I've seen several cards using the Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies (#143725) to make these sunflowers, so not sure who to give credit to.  Anyway, this is my version.  Such a simple card to put together, and yes, it makes me smile. So I used the sentiment "You make me smile" from the Colorful Seasons stamp set (#143726) and then also the leaves came from the Flourish Thinlits (#141478).  I layered Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, and Whisper White for the card base.  Hope you enjoy my card.

What about you?  Do you enjoy all the beautiful colors of Fall?  What's your favorite part of the season?

If you are interested in duplicating this card please check out my online store to order your supplies.  Remember to use Host Code: GEQRPJXM.

Fun Fold Friday

Do you enjoy creating fancy/fun fold cards as much as I do?  It's such a blessing giving unique cards to friends and family.  What a nice surprise to get a card that's out of the ordinary.  Not to mention, I just simply like creating something that is different and unexpected.

For this card I used the Eastern Palace Suite, which can be found on page 19 of the new 2017 Annual Catalog.  This suite makes any card or project a winner!

I wish I could take credit for the design of this card.  Instead, I must give credit to my very talented fellow demonstrator Cathy Stephenson. Her creativity inspired me to create this version of this fun fold card.  I will have to do a video to show you how easy it is to make.  But for now, if you are interested in trying it for yourself, you can find the directions on Cathy's blog here.

What kinds of Fancy Fold or Fun Fold cards do you like to make?  Leave me a message in the comments and share your favorites.

 Don't forget:

Between now and August 31st, when you place a $50 order or more (before shipping and tax) you will receive the new Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder as a free gift from me.  This offer is through my on-line store and will be mailed to you separately after the deadline (Aug. 31st).  When placing your order please use Host Code GEQRPJXM.

#HappinessHappensDay

Did you know that today is National Happiness Happens Day?  So in honor of this day I wanted to share with you an amazing card kit in the new 2017 Annual Catalog.  This kit is called Oh Happy Day!(#142725)

This all-inclusive kit makes 20 unique cards, and includes a set of 13 photopolymer stamps, clear stamp block, 20 card bases and coordinating envelopes, as well as many embellishments to add to each card. A full color sheet is included to help you design these all-occasion cards. All you need is your own adhesive and your ready to go.

I decided to tweak one of the samples slightly and came up with this card. Even though this is a card kit you can use all the items in the box in any way you like, such as on scrapbook layouts, treat bags, or any 3D project. So really it's a versatile kit.

Usually I tend to just stick with cards I make from scratch with a variety of supplies from the catalog.  But, for a quick project these kits are nice.  Everything on this card came straight from the box.  I did not have to use any of my other supplies except Snail Adhesive.  Even the Stampin' Dimensionals are included.

So what about you?  Do you like making cards from scratch or would you rather do the card kits?  If you're interested in trying out one of our project kits shop for one today.

Mojo Monday Card Sketch

Not sure how anyone else deals with this situation, but, I sometimes struggle to come up with a card design.  I tend to CASE a lot of cards from other stampers.  Lately, though, I'm trying to challenge myself not to do that.  That's when blogs like Mojo Monday come in handy.  Every Monday they post a new sketch challenge. Like this one.

Today, I decided to try it and share what I came up with.

For the card base I used Sweet Sugarplum, which is one of the new 2016-2018 In Colors.  I also used the new Glimmer Papers from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Aren't they so pretty?!

Speaking of Sale-A-Bration, time is almost up to choose your own free items.  The deadline is March 31st.  So hurry and place your order.  You can view the catalogs and place your order here.

Products Used

Cardstock:   Whisper White, Sweet Sugarplum, 6 x 6 Glimmer Paper

Ink Pads:      Basic Black

Stamp Sets:  Balloon Adventures

Tools:            Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies, Big Shot

Another FREE Stamp Set

The stamp set used on this card is the Avant Garden set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  This is yet another set you can choose as a free item when you purchase $50 in product.

I did not have the right color ribbon to place on the bottom half of the card so I improvised.  Instead I used the squiggly lines thinlit from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies set.  However, it seemed too wide so I cut a small portion off.  It made the card look complete.

I really like the simplicity of this card.  This was an easy card to create, which goes to show, you don't have to come up with an elaborate design to create something decent.  Sometimes simple is best.

My Product List:

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White
Stamps: Avant Garden (Sale-A-Bration)
Ink: Old Olive, Watermelon Wonder
Accessories: Swirly Squiggles Thinlits Dies, Linen Thread, Stampin Dimensionals

Busy Little Bee

Tomorrow is my Open House to kick start my business (again).  So, I've been a very busy little bee this week making several samples to display. I'm having such a good time experimenting with all the new stamp sets I've recently ordered from the 2017 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs.  I'm having a blast!!!

For this card I used Designer Series Paper, Cupcakes & Carousels, for the background.  This is actually the 6" x 6" paper stack.  It has 48 sheets: 4 each of 12 double-sided designs.  So many nice colors to work with in this pack.

I also created my own background on this banner piece using old olive ink and the "grid" stamp from the Timeless Textures stamp set in our current annual catalog. And then I smudged old olive ink around the edges as well.   I especially like how matting each layer with basic black cardstock makes each one stand out individually. Very pleased with how this card turned out.

What's been keeping you busy this week?

*The design for this card came from a card sketch I found on Mojo Monday blog.  Lots of good sketches there.

My project supply list:

Cardstock: Basic Black, So Saffron, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Cupcakes & Carousels paper stack
Stamps: Timeless Textures, Dragonfly Dreams
Ink Pads: Old Olive, Basic Black
Misc: Layering Circles Framelits Dies, Rhinestones, Stampin Dimensionals

Lots of Love Card

Here is another card done with a stamp set from the 2017 Occasions catalog.  Absolutely love this color combo for Valentines.  Using Pool Party cardstock breaks up the traditional red, pink, and white combo and gives it a unique look.  My favorite part of this card is the mini envelope which is made out of a sheet of vellum and stuffed full of hearts.  That goes perfectly with the sentiment "love you lots" .

Stampin' Up! has made paper crafting easy and more fun with all the Thinlits dies that coordinate with stamp sets.  And when you purchase them as a bundle you will save 10%.  Click here to shop for all the available bundles in the 2017 Occasions catalog.

My project supply list:

Cardstock: Pool Party, Real Red, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Vellum
Designer Series Paper Stack: Sending Love
Stamps: Sealed With Love
Ink Pad: Basic Black
Accessories: Love Notes Framelits dies, Owl Punch (for hearts)

Thank you for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!

Lift Me Up

I am having way too much fun playing with the new products from the Occasions Catalog.  I used the stamp set Lift Me Up (#142893 wood mount/#142896 clear mount) for this card. It is one of my favorites.  The possibilities with this set are endless.  And I've only just begun.  This stamp set also has a set of  coordinating thinlits dies, Up & Away (#142748). The thinlits can also be used without the stamps, making them even more versatile.  How exciting is that?!  When you purchase the stamp set and thinlits as a bundle (#144711 wood mount or #144712 clear mount) you will save 10%.

I almost forgot.  The matching Designer Series Paper pack, Carried Away (#143608) was also used on this card.  This is a fabulous item you can receive as a free gift when you place a $50 order (before shipping and tax), courtesy of the Sale-A-Bration promotion going on until March 31st.

I'm sure you will have as much fun as I am having with this fabulous set.  Happy Stamping!!
